Approach
Strategy
- Extend Georganics from oral care into skincare
- Develop a lightweight, backpacking-friendly product line
- Emphasize sustainability and minimal environmental impact
Execution
- Designed a cohesive packaging system across multiple products
- Developed retail display and unboxing experience
- Iterated through multiple prototypes to refine materials and structure
Visual Inspiration
Exploration began with the idea of “Leave No Trace,” evolving from human marks to natural impressions.
Tree rings and organic textures informed a subtle, tactile visual system rooted in nature.
Iterations
Early iterations explored a color and pattern-based system to differentiate products while maintaining a cohesive visual identity.
Based on feedback, the design shifted toward a simplified kraft paper approach to better support the “Leave No Trace” concept and reduce material impact.
User testing revealed challenges in product differentiation, informing further refinement of hierarchy and visual cues.
Final Outcome
The final system creates a cohesive and sustainable product line, extending Georganics into a lightweight skincare line designed for backpacking.
Kraft materials, simplified structures, and a reduced color palette reinforce the “Leave No Trace” concept while maintaining clarity and consistency across packaging, display, and unboxing.
The project demonstrates the impact of material choice, iteration, and system thinking in developing effective packaging solutions.
